2nd Shift Custodian
Bettendorf Community School District is seeking a dedicated, dependable, and detail-oriented 2nd Shift Custodian to join our Operations team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and community.
Schedule:
8 hours per day, 2nd Shift
Hourly Rate: $23.16/hour
Start Date:
September 2026
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical
- Pool certification required when assigned to a building with a pool
- Previous custodial experience in a school setting preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide verification of employment eligibility as required by federal law
- Knowledge, Skills & Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of custodial supplies, cleaning methods, and techniques
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and attractive school environment
- Follow all applicable health and safety regulations
- Perform and document routine inspections and maintenance activities
- Work independently with limited direct supervision
- Communicate effectively and professionally with staff, students, and visitors
- Demonstrate strong organization and multitasking skills
- Maintain a friendly, courteous, patient, and adaptable demeanor
- Demonstrate flexibility to meet the daily needs of the assigned school building
