Custodian

Overview

This position will work under the direction of the Facility Director to ensure overall cleanliness and upkeep of our YMCA facility.

• Daytime Custodian Monday - Friday, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
• Early Morning Custodian Friday - Sunday 4:00 am - 7:00 am

• Operate cleaning and maintenance duties including vacuuming, washing, mopping, laundering, dusting, trash pickup and light maintenance; respond to facility concerns to ensure a high level of member satisfaction; provide rapid and timely response to situations in a calm, professional manner and complete incident reports as needed.
• Comply with OSHA safety practices, maintain familiarity with MSDS locations and information, and follow safety methods and procedures for chemical and workplace safety.
• Maintain accurate and consistent maintenance logs, inventory, and complete necessary paperwork in a timely manner.

• 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to follow schedules and deadlines to meet the needs of various YMCA programs.
• Ability to follow written instructions in the absence of direct supervision.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
• Extremely reliable, dependable, and punctual; able to work independently and within a team.
• Sound decision-making skills; ability to take initiative and be self-motivated.
• Capable of performing basic math calculations, including fractions and decimals.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Possess basic computer skills including email and internet.
• A criminal background check is required.
