Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
We are seeking an Engineering Maintenance Technician II to join our Technical Services team supporting pharmaceutical utility systems and production equipment, adhering to GMP regulations and best practices. This role is suited for a mechanically‑inclined individual with strong character, sound judgment, and potential to advance into a broader technical role. Responsibilities include supporting critical utility systems such as compressed air, pure water, and clean steam generation, maintaining and troubleshooting production equipment (vial washing, depyrogenation, vial filling and capping, sterilizers, parts washers), and basic metrology activities.
The position will progress from supervised work toward greater independence.
Location:
Billerica, MA (on‑site).
- Develop and apply a safety, quality, and patient‑first mindset in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Support operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of pharmaceutical utility systems including WFI generation and distribution, clean compressed air, and steam generation and distribution.
- Assist with troubleshooting and routine maintenance of production equipment.
- Work alongside experienced maintenance technicians, engineers, operations, and quality personnel.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment inspections, and production support activities per procedures and safety expectations.
- Document work accurately and clearly.
- Participate in training to grow technical independence and ownership.
- Develop and apply fundamental metrology skills for simple calibrations (sensors, pressure gauges, temperature probes, balances, timers).
- Provide flexible support to the Metrology team as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and internal customers.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and reach for hands‑on skill advancement.
- Trade school, prior hands‑on maintenance experience, or other relevant technical background preferred.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, GMP, utilities, or calibration helpful but not required.
- Ability to follow written procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and ask questions when unclear.
- Willingness to learn through structured training and supervised work.
- Ability to work day or night shifts as business needs require.
- Dependable, accountable, and proactive in escalating issues or concerns.
- Strong team player collaborating across the organization.
- Safety‑minded with hazard recognition and safe work practices.

The pay range for this position is $23.08 to $34.13 per hour. The actual base pay may vary based on qualifications. Employees are eligible for discretionary performance‑based cash incentive and, depending on the level, may receive a discretionary annual equity award.
