Housekeeper – Senior Living Community – Billings Overview

Full-time position.

Schedule:

Tuesday – Saturday, 7:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. Pay Rate: $17.50 per hour.

• Perform daily cleaning tasks in accordance with established housekeeping procedures.
• Ensure assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.
• Follow infection control practices, safety precautions, and fire‑safety policies during all tasks.
• Clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, lights, windows, mirrors, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces in resident rooms and recreational areas.
• Wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures; clean floor surfaces—including sweeping, dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing, and disinfecting—using proper cleaning solutions.
• Vacuum, shampoo, deodorize, and disinfect carpets.
• Discard waste and trash into proper containers, relining receptacles with plastic liners as needed.
• Report hazardous conditions, equipment issues, non‑returned items, burned‑out lights, and any other concerns to the supervisor.
• Perform terminal cleaning procedures when a resident is discharged or transferred.
• Assist with lifting heavy equipment, supplies, and cleaning equipment as directed.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident‑care information and honor residents’ personal property.
• Attend departmental and staff meetings, ensuring all work areas remain free of hazardous objects.
• Follow written and oral instructions concerning cleaning compound mixtures.
• Assist others in maintaining proper storage of equipment, tools, and supplies.
• Support creation and maintenance of adequate inventory of housekeeping supplies.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year experience in a health care facility preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Skill to follow instructions, deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, and visitors.
• Ability to use supplies appropriately and maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
• Willingness to learn new methods and incorporate them into housekeeping practices.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, and cleaning instructions.
