Maintenance Worker II – General
The Maintenance Worker II – General is a position in the Facilities Management department. The position focuses on general maintenance and the caregiver may be assigned to work in a variety of areas of focus. The level II role demonstrates competency in a broad area of general maintenance.
Essential Functions- Performs routine to moderately complex maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and repairing damaged walls or floors.
- Assists with the installation, repair, and maintenance of hospital equipment and systems.
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests and provides immediate assistance to resolve the issue.

- Experience as a maintenance generalist or handyman is required.
- Demonstrated abilities of the skills listed above

- Some experience working in a healthcare setting
- A valid drivers license may be required for this position.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
- Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- For roles requiring driving:
Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles. - Bending, lifting, stooping, crawling, laying, sitting, walking, climbing.
- Use of hand and power tools, proper use of hearing and eye protection.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures in nature, work in noisy or constricted spaces, exposure to odors and smells.
