Anticipated Senior Groundskeeper

The Binghamton City School District is now seeking a dedicated and reliable candidate to join our team as a Senior Groundskeeper. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our students and staff.

The Senior Groundskeeper position involves responsibility for supervising and performing maintenance activities for the upkeep of school property grounds

• Assigns daily activities to subordinate staff
• Mows lawns, seeds, and fertilizes playfield lawns
• Lines play fields and ball fields for athletic events, and cleans the grounds after sports events
• Shovels snow from steps, building entrances, sidewalks, and driveways, and applies salt where necessary for ice control situations.
• Assists with maintenance tasks or helps move equipment and furniture
• May drive motor equipment to transfer operations, food, and supplies

The work is performed under the general supervision of the Facilities Supervisor and the Director of Athletics.

• Possession of the appropriate level operator's license issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles.
• Physical abilityto lift heavy objects (50lbs) and be in condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
• Two years of experience in parks or grounds maintenance activities.
