Location: Birmingham, AL
Pay: $20.00–$24.00 per hour

We are seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to support the operation and maintenance of a critical data center facility in Birmingham, Alabama. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and assisting with repairs to ensure continuous operation of building systems.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
  • Monitor facility equipment and record operating readings.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and assist with corrective repairs.
  • Inspect, clean, calibrate, and replace components as required.
  • Support the maintenance of critical infrastructure systems that support data center operations.
  • Respond to facility service requests and maintenance work orders.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors performing maintenance or repair work.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Identify and report potential equipment or facility issues before they become critical failures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 0–2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, or related trades.
  • Basic understanding of commercial or industrial building systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues.
  • EPA 608 Type II Certification required.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in a data center environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification.
  • Trade school education in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical systems, or a related field.
