Location: Birmingham, AL
Pay: $20.00–$24.00 per hour
We are seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to support the operation and maintenance of a critical data center facility in Birmingham, Alabama. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and assisting with repairs to ensure continuous operation of building systems.
Responsibilities- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
- Monitor facility equipment and record operating readings.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and assist with corrective repairs.
- Inspect, clean, calibrate, and replace components as required.
- Support the maintenance of critical infrastructure systems that support data center operations.
- Respond to facility service requests and maintenance work orders.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors performing maintenance or repair work.
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Identify and report potential equipment or facility issues before they become critical failures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 0–2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, or related trades.
- Basic understanding of commercial or industrial building systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues.
- EPA 608 Type II Certification required.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in a data center environment.
- EPA 608 Universal Certification.
- Trade school education in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical systems, or a related field.
Schedule & Compensation- Full-time position
- $20.00–$24.00 per hour
