Environmental Services / House Keeper - Floor Tech

Hill Crest Behavioral Health is an acute care, 194‑bed inpatient psychiatric facility located in Birmingham, AL, providing mental health services for adolescents and adults. This role is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and laundry tasks in accordance with established work routines under the directions of the Environmental Service Manager, maintaining the facility’s appearance and safety.

• MUST HAVE availability to attend an 8‑business day orientation from 8 AM to 4 PM without interruptions.
• Prior EVS experience in a medical setting/environment required.
• Background check & drug screen required.
• Perform cleaning and laundry duties as per established routines.
• Perform semi‑skilled tasks in upkeep, maintenance, and repair of the physical plant, building, grounds, and equipment.
• Achieve excellence in total facility appearance.
• Operate floor machine, auto scrubber, vacuum, extraction equipment, washer, dryer, lawn mowers, gardening equipment, and any other required equipment.
• Adhere to safety structures and use safety precautions in all housekeeping services.

• Ability to read written instructions and understand oral instructions.
• Ability to operate floor machine, auto scrubber, vacuum, extraction equipment, washer, dryer, lawn mowers, gardening equipment, and other equipment necessary for assigned tasks.
• Knowledge of routine maintenance and complete floor care at a medical facility, including carpeting, painting, masonry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, general mechanics, and gardening.
• Basic computer skills.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, climb a 6‑foot ladder, lift up to 75 pounds, and withstand physical strains from equipment use.
• Ability to measure proper solutions as related to the specific task.

• Valid HS Diploma/GED required.
• Previous Environmental Services / House Keeper experience in a medical environment required.
• Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection‑free condition.
• Responsible for daily disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials.
• Handle cleaning solvents and chemicals in accordance with safety regulations.
• Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services.
• Assist with housekeeping duties as necessary or assigned.
• Perform all other duties as required or assigned.

• Sits, stands, bends, kneels, lifts, and moves intermittently during work hours.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds.
