Ascent Hospitality is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join the Engineering Team for the exciting new opening of AC Hotel & Element Birmingham
.

This position reports directly to the Chief Engineer and will play an important role in supporting the Engineering Department during the pre-opening process and throughout the hotel's daily operations. The Maintenance Supervisor will help ensure the property is safe, efficient, well-maintained, and ready to deliver an exceptional guest experience from Day One
.

The Maintenance Supervisor will work closely with the Chief Engineer and hotel leadership to support pre-opening preparation, equipment and facility readiness, preventive maintenance, team development, and the successful launch of the property.

At AC Hotel & Element Birmingham
, our Engineering Team will play a critical role in creating a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for our guests and associates. We are looking for a dependable and hands‑on Maintenance Supervisor who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of timely maintenance and exceptional service.

• Support the Chief Engineer with the daily operations of the Engineering Department.
• Assist with pre-opening preparation
  , inspections, equipment setup, and property readiness.
• Supervise and assist maintenance team members with daily assignments, repairs, and projects.
• Perform and oversee preventive maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building systems
  .
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and hotel equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, emergencies, and guest needs.
• Assist with scheduling, work orders, inventory management, and vendor coordination.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Work closely with Housekeeping, Front Office, and other departments to address maintenance concerns and minimize guest impact.
• Help train and mentor maintenance team members on proper procedures, safety, and hotel standards.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and exceptional service
  .
• Help ensure compliance with safety standards, brand requirements, and company policies.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning property that exceeds guest expectations.
• Support the Chief Engineer and General Manager with special projects, property improvements, and other engineering needs as required.

• Previous hotel maintenance/engineering experience, preferably in a supervisory or lead role
  .
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building maintenance.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work hands‑on and respond effectively to maintenance emergencies.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to lead, train, and motivate maintenance team members.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other departments.
• Previous experience with a hotel opening or renovation is a plus
  .
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
