Position Overview:
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all buildings, grounds, and equipment are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This position plays a key role in maintaining a clean, professional, and welcoming environment for employees and customers alike. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and has strong problem-solving skills with a background in general maintenance or facilities work.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and mechanical components.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility and grounds to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- Handle basic carpentry, painting, drywall, and flooring repairs as needed.
- Manage and maintain outdoor areas including snow removal, lawn care, and parking lot upkeep.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests or emergency issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for larger repair projects or specialized maintenance.
- Track and manage maintenance supplies, tools, and inventory.
- Maintain records of maintenance work completed, inspections, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.
- Support setup, cleanup, and maintenance for dealership events or special projects.
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience in general maintenance, facilities, or building repair.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred:
- Trade school certification or vocational training in maintenance or related field.
- Experience working in a commercial or dealership environment.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance software or scheduling systems.
- OSHA safety training or similar certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing ladders, and operating maintenance equipment.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
