Job Description
Reporting to the Assistant Manager of 2nd & 3rd Shift Custodial Services, the incumbent provides custodial services to assure a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in assigned facilities. Responsible for meeting high standards of custodial organization in offices, meeting rooms, public areas, bathrooms, and other areas within the facilities.
Duties include floor maintenance, dusting, gathering and removal of trash, and snow and ice removal from entrance ways and sidewalks. Reports needed equipment and building repair and any unsafe or unusual custodial situations. Responsible for the care and handling of custodial supplies, equipment, and assigned keys. Occasionally assists with the preparation of regularly scheduled events.
Designated Emergency Personnel must report to work during emergency situations and closures.
Required Qualifications- Experience working with the public and/or customer service experience.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods.
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions and work independently.
- Must be able to walk and stand extensively; climb stairs; safely move or handle up to 35 lbs.; bend, stoop, reach (including above the head), push/pull, perform repetitive motion, twist, and shovel snow.
- Must be able to safely and efficiently operate electrically powered and manual cleaning equipment.
- Custodial/cleaning experience in an institutional or commercial cleaning environment (e.g., hospitality, manufacturing, health care).
- Custodial/cleaning experience working in an educational environment (universities/colleges, school systems).
- Previous experience operating professional cleaning equipment.
- Pay Band: 1
- Salary: $33,280 plus $2,080 shift differential.
- Hours per week: 40
- Overtime Status: Non-Exempt; eligible for overtime.
- Appointment Type: Regular.
Normal work hours are 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm, but work hours may vary to meet management and customer needs. Must have a valid driver's license.
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
