Work Flexibility

This role is field‑based and requires 100% overnight travel Monday–Friday. Travel, lodging and meal expenses are paid in accordance with the Stryker Corporate Travel Policy.

Responsibilities
  • Confirm site readiness of pre‑installation requirements and perform detailed inventory of installable equipment.
  • Lead the installation of surgical light suspensions, surgical booms, video integration systems, and ancillary equipment (room cameras, video monitors, video signals, etc.) in accordance with quality, safety and regulatory standards.
  • Interpret complex wire diagrams and CAD drawings; understand infrastructure, electrical and network requirements.
  • Program, test and inspect video integration sources to meet design specifications.
  • Perform functional and quality checks of equipment and document results prior to project sign‑off.
  • Maintain accurate records of installation activities and submit daily update reports.
  • Provide project updates to stakeholders and coordinate with Quality to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams (sales, project engineering, field service) and external teams (electricians, plumbers, contractors, hospital staff).
  • Coordinate and book travel arrangements and manage daily schedule to ensure on‑time arrival and completion of installation activities.
  • Conduct basic operational training for customers as needed and respond to service inquiries.
  • Advocate safety practices, complete required PPE and training, and adhere to all safety policies.
  • Document lessons learned and provide feedback to cross‑functional partners.
Physical Requirements
  • Exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally or up to 10 lbs frequently to move objects.
  • Use equipment including ladders, chain hoists, material lifts, and pallet jacks; climb ladders, work in confined spaces and above ceilings.
  • Maintain near visual acuity (corrected), color vision, mobility, bending, standing, stooping, and finger dexterity.
  • Communicate effectively via cell phone, text, email, and in person.
  • Travel via commercial airline and operate a motor vehicle with a valid state driver’s license.
  • Manage large pieces of construction and medical equipment.
Mental Requirements
  • Work effectively within a fast‑paced, independent environment and exercise good judgment.
  • Analyze and resolve non‑routine testing or equipment issues using independent judgment.
  • Interpret and follow detailed installation instructions and procedures.
  • Explain clearly to onsite trades, vendors, and customers.
  • Identify issues outside project scope and communicate following escalation pathways.
  • Think critically to resolve project roadblocks related to environmental or infrastructure challenges.
  • Interact appropriately with a variety of individuals, including customers and internal partners.
  • Read, navigate, and comprehend installation and technical manuals with acute attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills & Experience Required
  • 0–2 years of related technical experience in telecom, video/audio system installation, electrical/construction, medical device, or hospital biomed.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate PC skills and appropriate application skills.
  • Ability to operate small hand tools, power tools, and test equipment (e.g., data loggers, strip recorders, micrometers, voltmeters, oscilloscopes).
Education & Training Required
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) preferred.
  • 0–2 years of technical experience or comparable skill set required.
Pay Range

USN: $28.01 – $38.75 USD hourly

US5: $29.42 – $40.69 USD hourly
