Maintenance Technician

Dana Village Apartments | Blair, NE

Burlington Capital Properties is seeking a dependable and hands-on Maintenance Technician to join the team at Dana Village Apartments in Blair, NE. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting problems, keeping a property in excellent condition, and providing quality service to residents.

The successful candidate will be organized, flexible, and comfortable handling a variety of apartment and property maintenance needs. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to completing work safely and efficiently are essential.

Schedule

Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM | On-Call Evenings & Weekends

The Successful Maintenance Technician Will:

  • Complete work orders and respond to resident maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform routine apartment maintenance and repairs, including painting, appliance repair, carpet cleaning, and general building maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and assist with repairs involving plumbing, heating, air conditioning, electrical systems, carpentry, roofing, and other property systems.
  • Inspect apartments, common areas, buildings, and grounds to identify maintenance needs.
  • Prepare apartments for new residents, including completing repairs and ensuring units are clean, safe, and move-in ready.
  • Maintain the property's grounds, common areas, equipment, and amenities.
  • Communicate professionally with residents regarding maintenance requests and completed work.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used.
  • Follow all applicable safety, liability, and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop and work areas.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance needs as part of the property's on-call rotation.
  • Assist with other maintenance duties and special projects as requested by the Property Manager.

REQUIRED

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous maintenance experience preferred; apartment or multifamily maintenance experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, appliance repair, and general building maintenance.
  • HVAC certification preferred.
  • EPA certification preferred.
  • Pool certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, required auto insurance, and acceptable motor vehicle record required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work orders and manage multiple maintenance requests.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to respond to emergency maintenance needs during scheduled on-call periods.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, equipment, appliances, materials, and other items necessary to perform maintenance duties.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other equipment required for maintenance work.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform hands‑on maintenance and repair work as required.
  • Ability to respond to emergency maintenance needs during scheduled on‑call periods.
