Job Overview

The Housekeeper is responsible for overall housekeeping services of the apartment complex under the direction of the Community Manager or Service Manager. Duties include maintaining the clubhouse, office, and vacant apartments to a “sparkling clean” appearance, ensuring first impressions meet high standards, and supporting resident retention programs.

Essential Duties

Maintain interior areas (office, clubhouse, laundry rooms, other common areas) according to daily, tri‑weekly, or bi‑weekly schedules.

Follow life‑safety procedures and use protective gear.

Clean vacant units to a “sparkling clean” standard, including appliances, bathrooms, glass, and steam‑cleaning.

Refresh units that have been ready for more than one week by dusting, vacuuming, and freshening up.

Care for, maintain, and report on cleaning equipment and supplies, including MSDS sheets, labeling, and stock levels.

Perform errands and maintain records of driver’s license and insurance documentation.

Support the community manager or service manager by performing any additional duties as requested.

Greet residents with a cheerful attitude as part of the resident retention program.

Qualifications

At least one year of housekeeping or janitorial experience.
Professional appearance and strong attention to detail.
Ability to work well with residents, supervisors, employees, and vendors.
Effective communication skills.
Assertive and professional attitude.
Ability to close a sale (if applicable).
Pass drug‑screening test.

Reports To

The Housekeeper reports directly to the Community Manager or Service Manager and receives direction and daily assignments from them.
