Job OverviewAg‑Land FS, Inc. is hiring an agronomy position based in Hanna City, Illinois. The role involves working directly with local farmers, operating equipment, and supporting daily agricultural operations.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Loads and applies crop protection inputs to customer fields and grows crops according to recommended rates, procedures, and pesticide labels.
- Completes spray/application logs, noting any problems or concerns as they occur.
- Performs routine maintenance on all facility equipment, including oil changes, lubrication, and cleaning of application equipment as recommended in the operator’s manual.
- Works with other location employees to maintain location, buildings, equipment, and property to enhance company image.
- Delivers products to customers as required, including assisting walk‑in customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Adheres to AG‑LAND FS, Inc. environmental, health, training, and safety policies to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Adheres to Uniform policy and maintains the appropriate professional image.
- Assists with crop scouting as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Previous applicator experience or related training demonstrating ability to custom apply fertilizers, crop protection products, and ag lime.
- Proven professional communication and customer service skills, ability to comprehend instructions and communicate with customers and employees.
- Ability to keep sensitive information confidential.
- Time‑management and basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios, percentages).
- Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented environment.
- Basic computer skills related to custom application business.
- Core competencies:
business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, skill development. - Must have or be able to obtain a CDL with required endorsements and a commercial operator’s license.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test as per F.M.C.S. regulations.
- Work beyond normal hours when required.
- Lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
- Perform work overhead or under machinery, outdoors, in weather extremes as necessary.
- Perform minor equipment maintenance and repair.
