Facility Operations – IUB (BL-PHYP-IUBLA)
Capital Planning and Facilities (CPF) works to ensure that IU campuses are beautiful, functional, and sustainable, supporting excellence in teaching, learning, research, and community engagement across the entire university. A unit within CPF, Facility Operations, maintains our physical campus to support research, teaching, and learning at Indiana University Bloomington. Within Facility Operations, services are aimed at creating a well-functioning campus.
Responsibilities- Maintain swimming pool water quality by testing weekly and cleaning pool components, water purification systems, outdoor fountains, water filters using hose, vacuum, and power washer.
- Test water quality in pools and water systems using a water test kit; add chemicals to feeders as needed; clean outdoor fountains and strainers; vacuum and drain pools when necessary.
High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., HSED or GED).
Work ExperienceAt least 2 years of large‑scale water maintenance system experience.
Licenses & Certificates- Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured by Indiana University upon hire.
- Ability to acquire and maintain a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license within 90 days of hire.

This role requires the ability to remain in a stationary position as well as move about the workplace for long periods, operate machinery, tools, and controls, ascend/descend ladders and stairs, work at low level positions, detect chemicals/gases, ascend to rooftops, and move in tight spaces to complete inspections. Duties can be performed with or without accommodation.

Pay$23.01 per hour (approximately $47,860.80 per year)
