Position Overview:

The Facility Trash Handler is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment by managing all waste-handling duties throughout the building. This role focuses exclusively on trash collection, transport, disposal, and related safety practices. The position supports overall facility operations by ensuring waste is removed efficiently, consistently, and in compliance with safety standards.

What
the job looks like:

Facility Trash Collection — Collect trash from offices, restrooms, break rooms, clinical areas, hallways, and public spaces according to the facility’s scheduled routes.

Waste Bag Replacement — Remove full liners, secure bags properly, and replace with clean liners to maintain sanitation and prevent odors.

Trash Transport — Move collected waste to designated disposal points or dumpsters using approved carts or bins while following safe handling procedures.

Sorting Waste Types — Separate regular waste from recyclables or special-handling materials when required by facility policy.

Dumpster Area Maintenance — Maintain cleanliness around the dumpster area by ensuring bags are placed correctly, lids remain closed, and loose debris is removed.

• Other responsibilities as assigned.
