The City of Woodbury plans to hire a Building Maintenance Coordinator OR Building Maintenance Technician. Only one of these positions will be filled.
This position will remain open until filled with the first review of applications taking place on August 7, 2026.
The Building Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for maintaining designated City buildings in proper working condition through routine to advanced repair and maintenance tasks. This role also provides direction, support, and training to maintenance technicians working across municipal facilities.
The Hiring Salary Range for the Building Maintenance Coordinator is $37.55 - $48.81.
The Full Salary Range for the Building Maintenance Coordinator is $37.55 - $54.44
The Building Maintenance Technician maintains designated City buildings in safe, functional, and efficient operating condition by performing routine to skilled maintenance and repair work. This position exercises independent judgment in diagnosing and resolving maintenance issues, completing routine to small-scale building maintenance projects, coordinating with vendors under established guidelines, and providing day-to-day technical guidance to other maintenance and janitorial staff as assigned.
The Hiring Salary Range for the Building Maintenance Technician is $34.47 - $43.62.
The Full Salary Range for the Building Maintenance Technician is $34.47 - $48.24.
THEESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BUILDING MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR ARE:
Facility Maintenance and System Repairs
Regularly inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of mechanical systems, including boilers, air handlers, chillers, rooftop units, makeup air units, ventilators, unit heaters, ERVs, condensers, heat pumps, generators, air compressors, VAVs, pumps, garage doors, fire alarm systems, indoor water features, and specialized equipment at the ice arena and field house.
Automation and Control SystemsOperate and monitor Building Automation Systems and Lighting Control Systems, including performing remote troubleshooting. Use system insights to ensure equipment operates efficiently and to anticipate maintenance needs.
Technical Support and Staff TrainingCollaborate closely with Building Technicians to document maintenance procedures, troubleshoot equipment issues, and train staff in routine and complex repairs.
Project ManagementAssist with the development and installation of capital projects. Independently manage non-capital projects such as office layout redesigns, data/electrical setup, workspace modifications, furniture moves, concrete repairs, and other facility updates. Recommend future capital projects based on facility needs.
Budgeting and ProcurementSupport the Maintenance Manager in the development of the annual maintenance budget. Track and purchase necessary supplies and materials for maintenance and janitorial operations.
Emergency and On-Call ResponsibilitiesPerform on-call duties to respond to emergencies including fire alarms, equipment malfunctions, and security concerns. Maintain building security systems and coordinate daily building access.
General Repairs and UpkeepCarry out routine tasks such as carpentry work, furniture repairs, painting, lock replacement, lamp and ballast changes. Determine when contractor services are needed and recommend accordingly.
Preventive Maintenance and InspectionsComplete preventive maintenance on building systems and keep accurate documentation. Conduct daily and weekly walkthroughs using building checklists to identify and address needed repairs.
Occupant Communication and SupportWork with building occupants to prioritize service requests and provide updates on project schedules or disruptions. Respond promptly to staff requests and maintain a high level of service.
Seasonal and Miscellaneous TasksPerform seasonal duties such as snow and ice removal from building walkways. Assist with special projects including furniture moves, room set-ups, event preparation, and equipment handling.
Janitorial OversightOrder, track, and distribute janitorial supplies and equipment. Provide guidance to janitorial staff to ensure standards of cleanliness and upkeep are maintained.
Other DutiesFulfill other related responsibilities as assigned. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and early mornings as needed.
