Special Education Teacher

Begin making a meaningful difference as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a Middle School setting focused on Resource and Pull-Out services. This contract opportunity offers the chance to engage and empower diverse learners while collaborating with a passionate team of professionals. The assignment is set to begin as soon as possible and will run through May 28, 2027.

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois State Educator License with LBS1 Endorsement is required
• Demonstrable ability to design, write, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Skilled in active collaboration with related services staff to support student needs
• At least two years of recent teaching experience preferred, particularly within special education
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and growth-oriented classroom environment

Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instruction within middle school Resource and Pull-Out programs
• Develop, review, and update IEPs according to best practices and compliance guidelines
• Monitor student progress, document interventions, and regularly communicate outcomes
• Partner closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to ensure holistic student support
• Participate in meetings (including the upcoming pending meeting) to remain aligned on student goals and program strategies
• Adapt materials, teaching methods, and assessments to meet diverse educational needs
