Overview
Perform x-ray film evaluation, interpretation and disposition of product in accordance with standard procedures. May calibrate equipment, conduct tests, organize and manage work. Ability to determine imperfections such as cracks, porosity, lack of fusion and inclusions from film review. Establish techniques and procedures and interpret codes, standards and specifications.
Responsibilities- Accurate scanning in and out on jobs and proper reporting of processed quantities.
- Wear proper safety equipment; keep work area clean and safe at all times.
- Understand customer requirements, internal scrap challenges, rework, customer returns, and the impact on your job; deliver quality and efficient workmanship.
- Review and inspect all material being used, building self-inspection into every step you make/process.
- Complete, date and sign off on all routing information.
- Perform job tasks efficiently according to given standards.
- Learn CM procedures M13 & SP400, traveler process, scanning and demonstrate competency to perform.
- Learn all procedures and specifications needed to properly x-ray and evaluate castings per customer requirements using approved techniques to verify compliance.
- X-ray castings to approved techniques; must have Level 1 / 2 approval and sign off on all x-ray shots.
- Organize, document x-ray results, label and file for interpretation in the reading room.
- Perform and verify calibrations, learn rework to remove flash, sand, metal, defects or other debris from castings.
- Serialize parts per CM procedure and route ticket and log book instructions.
- Clean film processor, cassettes and work area according to maintenance procedure. Log information on required checklists.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; time management; ability to multi-task; organizational skills;
Microsoft Office skills.
- On-the-job training with an experienced operator until certification is achieved. Classroom and on-the-job training required to achieve certification.
