Cutoff Operator

G&W Electric Co., a global leader in power grid solutions, is seeking a Cutoff Operator to support our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will set up, operate, and monitor cutoff equipment to produce metal components used in critical electric power distribution products. You'll interpret work orders and blueprints, perform accurate measurements, and verify quality to strict specifications. Responsibilities include routine machine maintenance, safe material handling, and documentation of production data.

You'll collaborate closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams in a safety-driven, continuous-improvement culture.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor cutoff machines to produce metal components to specification
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production drawings
• Perform precise measurements and in-process inspections using gauges and calipers
• Adjust machine settings to maintain quality, throughput, and minimal scrap
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE use and lockout/tagout awareness
• Complete basic preventive maintenance and report equipment issues promptly
• Handle and stage raw materials and finished parts safely and efficiently
• Record production data, counts, and quality checks in required systems
• Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and production teams to resolve issues
