The Wirt County Board of Education announces the following extra-curricular employment opportunities for the 2026-27 school year:

Located at 50 Senior Circle, Elizabeth, WV 26143

Contract

Terms:

(Up to 5 hours per week total Monday through Friday);
Work must be completed outside their normal work hours. Rate of Pay will be based on the custodian's job classification

• High School Graduate or GED
• Must pass the state mandated test for Custodians
• Possess the knowledge, skills and ability to successfully carry out responsibilities of the position

• Cleans, sweeps, dusts, and mops the meeting areas and offices
• Cleans and sanitizes all plumbing fixtures
• Removes all waste and trash as needed
• Washes windows as needed
• Sweeps sidewalks and removes debris from grounds as needed.
• Reports repairs beyond his/her ability to the maintenance foreman
• Ensures that unnecessary lights are off to conserve energy and doors are locked
• Maintains the building and grounds in a clean, attractive manner
• Maintains positive work habits.
• Performs duties efficiently and productively.
• Performs other related duties assigned by the Wirt County Schools Superintendent or Director of Support Services

• Must be able to perform tasks requiring strength to lift, push, pull or carry objects up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to perform tasks that require flexibility to bend, stretch, twist or reach with body, arms and/or legs.
• Must be able to climb steps and ladders up to designated areas to perform job
