Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Blytheville, AR. This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of off-road heavy diesel equipment used in our operations.
Pay:
Up to $46.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule:
6am to 4 pm / Monday – Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel engines and related systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems, in various types of equipment such as trucks, loaders, and forklifts.
- Inspection: Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues before they result in equipment failure. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify problems with diesel engines and other mechanical systems. Develop and implement effective solutions to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and labor hours. Report any additional maintenance needs or issues to management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance staff and departments to coordinate repairs and minimize downtime. Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced team members as needed.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Participate in safety training and contribute to the development of safety initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Must have Sennebogen and CAT experience
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification in Diesel Mechanics or related field preferred.
- Experience: 7-10 years of experience in diesel mechanics required. Experience with heavy equipment used in steel mills is a plus.
- Skills: Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is desirable.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and operate various tools and equipment. Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions typical of a steel mill.
