POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Job Title: Custodian

Opening Date: April 25, 2024

Closing Date: Until filled

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary: Based on BCSS Salary Schedule

Expected Workday: 8 Hour Workday

Terms of Employment: 12-Month Contract

Reports To: Principal

• To maintain safe, controlled, and clean facilities

• Minimum – High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to perform job responsibilities without close supervision
• Ability to operate cleaning machines such as buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, etc.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
• Understanding of the essential procedures of cleaning and sanitizing
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

• To maintain school facilities to the expectations of a world class school system
• The custodian shall be responsible for
  • Maintaining positive work habits
  • Performing duties efficiently and productively
  • Maintaining and/or upgrading skill
  • Maintaining personal qualities appropriate for assigned job
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the Principal

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boaz City Board of Education.
