Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

This role operates on the 2nd shift, with a schedule of Monday‑Friday 3:00‑11:30pm.
Onboarding Program: A structured 4–5 day program, typically scheduled from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, is required during the first week.
Position SummaryAs an ASE Mechanic, you’ll lead maintenance of production and facility equipment, handle complex repairs, troubleshoot across multiple systems, support continuous improvement, mentor others, and drive safety, efficiency, and reliability across the site.
Responsibilities- Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs, including industrial power and control systems, motor control centers, and PLC‑based equipment.
- Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam systems including Solid Oral Dose Manufacturing equipment, blending, encapsulation, compression, and coating machines.
- Lead or support root cause analysis and problem‑solving projects.
- Monitor and maintain plant systems such as boilers, compressors, HVAC, etc.
- Use manuals, drawings, and technical resources to diagnose issues.
- Maintain organized work spaces and inventory areas.
- Support emergency repairs and scheduled maintenance.
- Train and mentor lower‑level technicians.
- Apply advanced cross‑trade skills—such as welding, plumbing, or related maintenance disciplines—to support complex facility and equipment projects as needed.
- Follow safety rules, GMPs, SOPs, and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school or journeyman background preferred.
- 8+ years of maintenance experience, including 5+ years in manufacturing.
- PLC programming experience preferred.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and move throughout shift.
- Comfortable working around powders, chemicals, and food allergens.
- Flexible to work overtime based on business needs.
- Comfortable using CMMS and basic software (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, AS400, PQM, or Captiva preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Advanced math and reading skills.
- Able to read blueprints and generate rough sketches.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and machine shop equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical testing tools and lubrication systems.
- Team‑oriented, dependable, and self‑motivated.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
