• Have a thorough knowledge of dress making techniques, sewing machines, fabrics and correct usage of sewing supplies.
• Ensures all uniforms, hotel linen, drapes, bedspreads, box-spring covers, decorating materials and flags are altered or repaired when necessary to the highest possible standard and according to priorities as set by Laundry Manager.
• Ensures any necessary repair or alternation of guest clothes is carried out efficiently, neat and professionally.
• Make sure the stock records are adjusted accordingly.
• Maintains and controls standard stocks of sewing machines and tailoring tools. Reports any defects to Laundry Supervisor for repair.
• Maintains and controls standard stocks of sewing supplies and notifies the Laundy Supervisor when additional supplies are needed.
• Uses his/her sense of creativity to recommend easy to produce decoration and assists in decorating when requested.
• Ensures Tailoring area is nest, clean and tidy at all times.
