Position Summary

Our nursing home is seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping Director to lead our housekeeping department and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents. The Housekeeping Director will be responsible for overseeing all cleaning and sanitation operations within the facility, leading a team of housekeeping staff, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring all areas of the facility are cleaned and maintained to meet health and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement effective cleaning schedules and procedures, ensuring timely and thorough completion of tasks.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate housekeeping staff to ensure efficient and high-quality performance.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are fully stocked and in good working condition.
  • Perform regular inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards are consistently met.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations, as well as facility policies.
  • Address specific cleaning or sanitation needs requested by residents, families, or staff.
  • Manage the housekeeping department budget, controlling costs and tracking expenses.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and optimal care for residents.
Qualifications
  • A very hands‑on approach to managing housekeeping operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional training in facility management or housekeeping preferred).
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role in housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare or long‑term care setting.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, residents, and families.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast‑paced environment.
