Custodian Ii​/Groundskeeper

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and service work on school grounds, equipment, machinery, and irrigation systems; provide custodial and cleaning services as needed; perform related tasks as required.

Drive District vehicles as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of groundskeeping experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and standard practices of cleaning and maintaining public buildings and grounds, as well as yard maintenance.
• Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting materials, tools and equipment used in custodial work.
• Knowledge of tools and their use for minor maintenance work.
• Ability to prepare and maintain gardens, trees and shrubs, surface areas and other planting areas.
• Ability to mow, trim, weed and apply herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers.
• Ability to follow and give oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with district personnel, students and the public.
• Occasionally related job tasks may require, with or without reasonable accommodation, lifting up to 50 lbs, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, pushing, grasping and reaching.
• During student vacation periods, may be assigned to a district crew.

Benefits are provided to Classified employees who work at least half time (20 hours per week) or more in a regular position and to Certified employees with a 0.5 FTE or greater contract.
