Working Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM, you will transform bustling daytime spaces into pristine, safe environments ready for the next morning. Applies basic skills while developing specialized skills in procedures, operations, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment. Performs routine and/or repetitive tasks with limited decision‑making under close supervision and within established procedures.

• Performs heavy‑duty cleaning in locker rooms, classrooms, dormitories, and lavatories; cleans, sanitizes, and polishes surfaces; dusts, washes, and mops; sanitizes furniture and woodwork; cleans shades on light fixtures; removes waste; selects products and applies them according to specifications; orders supplies; sweeps, strips, seals, and finishes floors; washes windows; removes and prepares draperies; removes adhesives, tiles, and carpet; refines floors and prepares them for carpeting or special flooring;
  
  instructs temporary help.
• Operates heavy‑duty scrubbing, buffing, shampooing, vacuuming, and wet/dry pickup equipment; performs preventive maintenance; finishes floors; uses snow blowers, hysters, airlift platforms, dollies, and carts; uses specialized sweepers; replaces belts, brushes, and bearings; ensures area is secure; verifies doors locked and lights/appliances off; reports fire hazards and other emergencies.
• Custodians perform a variety of duties to help ensure facilities operate smoothly, including setting up for special events, providing direction, answering basic questions regarding events for patrons, moving furniture, climbing ladders, and shoveling snow from walkways.

• Knowledge of machines, tools, and their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
• Ability to manage one’s own time.

Willingness to perform duties associated with commercial cleaning, including operating industrial‑type cleaning equipment such as high‑speed buffers and vacuum cleaners; cleaning restrooms, bath facilities, locker rooms, swimming pools, and similar facilities; moving heavy items such as tables, chairs, and bleachers; and repairing the equipment and related devices you operate.

Salary is $16.68 per hour. Boise State University provides a best‑in‑class benefits package, including:
