Reports to:
Club Manager / Assistant Club Manager
You will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of all areas of the facility, maintain a positive member experience, and provide superior customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests.
Requirements- Overnight cleaners must submit to a background check consisting of a National Criminal Scan, National Sex Offender Registry, National Security/Terrorist Watch List and County Criminal Search. Continued employment will be based on a satisfactory outcome of the background check.
- Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within the time frames required by the company and have the physical ability to administer CPR/AED in the event of a medical emergency.
- Must obtain tanning certification within the required time frame.
- Position requires on‑site work.
- Applicants for an overnight position must submit to a 7‑year criminal background check within the first week of hire.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Reliable and punctual with strong attention to detail.

- Willingness to learn and apply company cleaning practices, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain CPR/AED certification within required time frames.
- Maintain tanning certification within company‑required time frames.
- Previous janitorial, cleaning, or custodial experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety standards.
- Maintain daily cleaning of all assigned areas floor in accordance with Planet Fitness standards and guidelines.
- Thoroughly clean, disinfect and sanitize all common areas, e.g., restroom, locker rooms, Black Card Spa, showers, bathroom toilets and stalls, sinks and floors.
- Wipe down and disinfect fitness equipment, weights and cardio machines.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust throughout the facility.
- Empty and dispose of trash and recycling; maintain trash cans and cleaning stations.
- Refill cleaning supplies, paper products and soap dispensers as needed and notify management when inventory is low.
- Maintain cleaning equipment (clean the mop, bucket, empty vacuum bags, etc.).
- Other cleaning duties as needed or assigned by management.
- Clean and post signage for unsafe conditions, such as wet/slippery floors in locker rooms, bathrooms, shower areas and tanning rooms.
- Report broken or missing amenities or equipment to management promptly.
- Follow “Lost and Found Policy” and notify lost member property to the Club Manager or Assistant Club Manager immediately.
- Follow all Planet Fitness cleaning and sanitization protocols.
- Greet members in a friendly, professional manner when in common areas.
- Help maintain a welcoming and positive club environment.
- Ensure that cleaning duties are performed discreetly and efficiently during open hours.
- Cross‑training may be provided to assist with front‑desk duties when coverage is needed.
- Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor environment.
- Travel from site to site.
- Exposure to noise, dust, grease, gases, cleaning chemicals, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions.
- Requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to walk, stand and sit for prolonged periods; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp and make repetitive hand movements in the performance of daily duties; climb unusual heights on ladders; lift, carry, push and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight (over 80 lbs).
- Verbally communicate to exchange information.
- Maintain physical ability to administer CPR in the event of a medical emergency.
- See and hear in the normal visual/audio range with or without correction.
