Position: Housekeeper ~ Senior Living Community ~ Boise ~ PART TIME 20-23 HOURS PER WEEK

Overview

Housekeeper – Senior Living Community | Boise, PRN / On Call.

Schedule:

M-F; 20-23 hours per week. The role supports senior residents with housekeeping and deep cleaning in their homes upon request.

Responsibilities
  • Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments and established housekeeping procedures.
  • Maintain assigned work areas in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.
  • Follow established infection control practices and safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment.
  • Clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, and room areas in resident rooms and recreational areas daily as instructed.
  • Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures; clean windows/mirrors; and clean floors (sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting).
  • Clean carpets (vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, disinfecting); clean walls and ceilings; remove dirt and stains from surfaces using proper cleaning solutions.
  • Clean hallways, stairways, and elevators; dispose of waste and relines trash receptacles as needed.
  • Report hazardous conditions or equipment; ensure work areas and equipment are properly stored; maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies.
  • Report burned out lights and other maintenance needs; perform terminal cleaning procedures when a resident is discharged or transferred.
  • Follow fire-safety policies; assist in lifting heavy items when directed; report accidents/incidents to the supervisor.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and honor resident property; turn in found articles to the supervisor; attend departmental meetings.
Qualifications

  • Education:

    High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience:

    One year of experience in a health care facility preferred.
  • Job knowledge:
    Ability to read, write, and speak English; follow instructions; use cleaning supplies safely; maintain clean and safe housekeeping areas; work harmoniously with staff; willingness to learn new methods.
  • Standards:
    Adherence to Health Department standards.
