Maintenance Assistant – Truewood by Merrill, Boise

We are seeking a compassionate, responsible, and honest individual to support seniors in our beautiful community. The ideal candidate will be committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of residents while maintaining the property to the highest standards.

• Perform general maintenance projects as scheduled or assigned, including plumbing, electrical, fire and sprinkler systems, HVAC, landscaping, carpentry, painting, and equipment repair.
• Apply Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) knowledge to safely handle chemicals and maintenance tasks.
• Maintain walls, floor coverings, doors, windows, furniture, and woodwork in common areas.
• Prepare and paint surfaces as required, including renewing vacated rooms.
• Conduct all in‑house plumbing work—sinks, toilets, bathtubs, and related fixtures.
• Execute minor electrical work in units and common areas (light switches, outlets, garbage disposals).
• Finish painting of all apartments and common areas.
• Repair, clean, and maintain carpet, floor coverings, and furniture.
• Complete work orders promptly, documenting any additional work completed.
• Record safety issues and physical plan deficiencies per local, county, state, and federal regulations.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and cleaning of community vehicles (buses and cars).
• Help train and develop safety procedures and hazard communications.
• Respond immediately and appropriately to accidents and emergencies per established protocol.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Regional Maintenance Supervisor, or General Manager.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years of age.
• 1–3 years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, mechanical, painting, plumbing, floor care, heating, and HVAC.
• Preferable knowledge of fire suppression and irrigation systems.
• Preferable motor vehicle maintenance ability.
• Flexible schedule with willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
