Job Overview
The Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performing environmental services as needed, and performing floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations.
Roles & Responsibilities- Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Stop at risk behaviors in others and yourself.
- Work with other employees as a team to complete assignments.
- Perform repetitive tasks and maintain clean work area.
- Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
- Take direction and respond to supervision, talk with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers professionally.
- Fill in during staff shortages in custodial, recycle, or maintenance.
- Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
- Use proper personal protective equipment required for assigned tasks.
- Present a professional appearance and conduct.
- Understand customer service and satisfaction.
- Understand reporting systems and environment information.
- Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
- Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet, and brick flooring.
- Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
- Use appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
- Use and maintain equipment properly.
- Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely.
- Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs ‘wet floor’.
- Work without normal supervision and report safety hazards as appropriate.
- No education requirement.
- Preferred: 6 months to 1 year experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- May be required to have a valid driver’s license.
- Complete all safety and task training certification.
- May be required to be forklift certified.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, and willingness to share with team.
- Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
- Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
The position requires frequently sitting, talking, or listening. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. The work environment includes frequent use of motorized cleaning equipment and exposure to cleaning chemicals.
Compensation and ShiftMon‑Fri: 6pm‑2:30am – $17.00‑$18.00 per hour.
