Job Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Assistant Facilities Manager to join the facilities team at a premier residential property in downtown Boston. This position offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package for the right candidate.
The Assistant Facilities Manager will support daily building operations, preventive maintenance, and emergency response while working closely with management, concierge, and valet teams to maintain a high standard of service and property care.
Responsibilities:
* Perform and assist with basic maintenance including plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, building systems, carpentry, painting, and general property care.
* Assist with residential Units and common area work orders.
* Assist with snow removal during winter operations.
* Conduct regular exterior property walks to ensure lighting is operational and perform minor repairs based on work orders created and provided as needed.
* Assist with painting stairwells, trash rooms, and other common areas as required.
* Support heavy package deliveries to residential units when requested.
* Assist with power washing of garage areas, car port and sidewalks as needed.
* Strip and wax trash room floors and other applicable flooring areas.
* Participate in rotating on-call coverage for after-hours emergencies.
* Assist with preventive maintenance (PM) services for in-unit HVAC Whalen systems.
* Assist with preventive maintenance of common area HVAC equipment.
* Support concierge and valet staff when requested.
* Work collaboratively across all departments and contribute positively to the team environment.
Skills &
Qualifications:
* Working knowledge of building maintenance trades including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and general repairs.
* Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and working in varying weather conditions.
* Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as required.
* Prior facilities or building maintenance experience preferred.

* High school diploma or equivalency preferred. Technical background from university or vocational sources a plus.
* Minimum 3 - 5years experience in building trades, repair and replacement maintenance or handy work
Physical Requirements:
* Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 100 lbs or more following appropriate safety procedures. This movement can occur throughout the day. You must also
* be able to climb several flights of stairs if necessary.
* Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
* Must be able to communicate both on the phone and in person with our clients to resolve issues and manage the business.
* Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.
* Must be mobile enough to move around both the office, to make copies, send mail and faxes and to walk around the property. This could include lengthy walks on uneven areas.
* Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other associates.
* Capable of working extended hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary.
* This position may alternate between working indoors in a controlled climate and with proper lighting, to an outdoors setting with variable climate and lighting.
* Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills.
* Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances. For safety reasons, employees must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns.
* Must be able to work effectively and cheerfully in an environment which may be stressful due to adversarial situations resulting from the proper performance of duties

As a full-time exempt associate, you will be eligible for full comprehensive benefits to include your choice of multiple medical plans, dental, and vision. Compensation:
$34.00/hourly
