Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Position Summary
The Welder is primarily responsible for the cosmetic and functional repair of all vessels.
Duties and Responsibilities- Complete assigned tasks from the Engineering Supervisor and help plan/implement task execution.
- Weld stick, TIG, and MIG for aluminum and stainless steel.
- Use non‑destructive quality assurance tools like dye penetrant.
- Weld in the horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Read necessary diagrams and create/implement an appropriate repair plan.
- Paint, repair, clean, and generally improve facilities, vessels and equipment as required by the Engineering Supervisor.
- Ensure all aspects of safety during task execution.
- Be able to correctly identify and use power tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Use of approved Hazmat required for Paints, Solvents & Cleaning Agents.
- Perform cleaning and custodial tasks of the vessels and property, including maintenance and construction tasks as assigned and minor engineering repairs and rounds as directed.
- Operate with the highest levels of quality and professionalism to achieve the highest levels of performance and productivity.
- Assist the Engineering Supervisor in ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
- Assist Engineering Supervisor in ensuring vessels are always in an inspection‑ready condition.
- Additional job duties as assigned.
- High School (or equivalent) Diploma.
- Minimum three (3) year experience with welding.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Strong customer service, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Maintain a high level of organization, detail‑oriented and meet deadlines.
- Handle multiple tasks/projects at one time.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by job responsibility.
- Listen effectively, assess the situation, determine relevant issues, & suggest solutions.
- Have a working knowledge of computer skills, including but not limited to proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites.
- Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to coworkers and guests.
- Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards.
- Will be required to be available for work nights, weekends and on all major holidays.
