Overview
Maintain all building‑related systems and the building envelope to ensure the safety of hotel guests, associates, and vendors. Ensure compliance with company Engineering Assumptions/Culture, preventative maintenance programs and procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, Mission Vision and Values, and all Building/Fire/Health Department codes. Maintain the building complex as energy‑efficient as possible by constantly seeking ways to save energy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, and patching vinyl to maintain product quality.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance assignments (“room care”).
- Check electrical systems (air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting) and make minor repairs or replacements.
- Handle routine repairs and assist with major repairs of all hotel equipment, including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, hand and power tools, and general plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Service the pool by adjusting chemicals, cleaning filters, and completing maintenance request forms and logs.
- Maintain the building exterior and curb appeal (snow removal, lawn care, painting, gardening).
- Refurbish and finish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms (cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, counters).
- Move furniture and fixtures throughout the building.
- Respond courteously to all guest questions, complaints, and requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
- Work in extreme temperature environments.
- Operate heavy machinery as required.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Vocational schooling, military training, certification and/or experience in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or Carpentry.
- Hotel experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs routinely (with or without reasonable accommodation).
- Must be able to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Adapt communication style to suit different audiences (supervisors, coworkers, public, etc.).
Hourly Rate: $30.50
No tipped/service charge or discretionary performance bonus eligibility.
