Civil Trades Manager – Facilities Management & Planning – Maintenance Services

Location: Boston, MA

Employment Type: Full-Time / Regular

Position Overview

The Civil Trades Facilities Manager works with Trades Managers responsible for daily operations and maintenance of university campuses. This role involves developing excellent working relationships with the university community and vendors to coordinate services, ensuring the successful completion of client facility needs and providing superior customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Trades Managers and internal/external vendors to coordinate maintenance and construction services.
  • Ensure successful completion of client facility needs across hundreds of buildings and operations projects.
  • Read construction documents and evaluate building trades requirements.
  • Manage work order systems and building automation systems to support facility operations.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple detailed tasks to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Facilities‑related college degree or 3–5 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilities and construction management.
  • Strong organizational, attention to detail, and follow‑up skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Familiarity with work order systems and building automation systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making ability.
  • Ability to work independently, be proactive, take initiative, and be punctual.
