Porter

Porters ensure that Levain Bakeries maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff. They are responsible for sanitizing food preparation areas, maintaining clean customer and work areas, and supporting overall operations.

• Lead with curiosity and compassion by showing care for co‑workers and building meaningful connections.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure store cleanliness and maintain clean customer areas, restrooms, and work spaces throughout the shift.
• Sweep floors and sidewalks, mop, and dust as needed.
• Wash, sanitize, and restock dishes, trays, baking tools, and other supplies.
• Communicate maintenance issues to leaders and management.
• Follow health and safety guidelines, ensuring all surfaces, floors, and equipment are clean and sanitized.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of bakery displays and equipment and clean anti‑fatigue floor mats.
• Empty trash in bathrooms, workstations, and customer‑facing areas throughout the day.
• Assist in restocking and organizing inventory, including receiving and organizing deliveries and proper storage of dry and refrigerated goods.
• Support the team in daily operations, including light food preparation and packaging as needed.

• Preferred experience:
  
  custodian or porter in food‑service or retail.
• Open availability: work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift/push up to 50 pounds, including overhead.
• Must stand/walk for an 8‑hour shift (excluding a ½ hour break); some locations require stairs.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and professionalism.
• Positive attitude, self‑motivated, reliable, and punctual.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; team‑oriented.
• Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.

• $18-20.25 per hour
