General Service Associate – Environmental Services
Boston Medical Center is a leader in health care, committed to delivering exceptional and equitable care. We are looking for a General Service Associate to perform building and environmental services, ensuring that all facilities operate at a standard that enhances quality patient care.
Position SummaryPerforms a wide range of building and environmental services to maintain quality patient care. Uses industrial equipment such as vacuum cleaners, scrubbers, buffers, and other hospital‑approved tools to perform moderate difficulty tasks in installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment.
Job Responsibilities- Perform project work including floor refinishing, carpet extraction, etc.
- Maintain stock of all housekeeping supplies in assigned areas and manage housekeeping closets and equipment.
- Prepare patient rooms for occupancy upon discharge or transfer.
- Perform daily floor care maintenance.
- Collect and dispose of trash and waste as needed.
- Move furniture, boxes, etc., to clean.
- Install, clean, maintain, and repair all designated housekeeping equipment.
- Install patient cubicle curtains.
- Perform all functions of the General Cleaner.
- Ability to read, follow oral and written instructions in English at a level acquired through the completion of elementary school.
- Ability to learn and perform basic housekeeping practices and understand hospital policies and procedures.
- Experience in floor care, carpet care preferred.
- HS Diploma or completion of GED preferred.

Compensation Range: $21.05 - $23.70
