Responsibilities and Duties- Clean and service all areas of the facility according to established procedures.
- Move furniture, equipment and supplies within hospital departments. Perform a variety of environmental services duties to maintain a neat, orderly and sanitary condition.
- Respond to fire or disaster codes as instructed by supervisor or manager.
- Provide superior customer service to internal and external clients, customers, and patients as referenced in the Service Excellence Standards.
- Select cleaning materials and supplies, prepare chemicals per procedure.
- Load maid's carts and transport to work area.
- Wash furniture, tile, fixtures, and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions.
- Wipe high-touch areas such as door knobs, handrails, telephone, wall plates, light switches, light pull cords, monitors, walls, doors, ceilings, vents, televisions and windows.
- Sweep and mop floor areas, vacuum carpets, spot clean carpets using appropriate solutions, and arrange furniture and equipment after cleaning.
- Request cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
- Operate various types of cleaning equipment, mechanical and electrical.
- Cleans equipment and report need for repair.
- Report safety hazards to manager.
- Clean carts and equipment, ensuring items are replaced orderly.
- Climb ladder to hang cubicle drapes or window drapes as needed.
- Collect waste from all areas of responsibility, including hazardous waste per policy.
- Clean isolation rooms during patient stay and after discharge.
- Clean operating suites using proper cleaning solutions and departmental procedures.
- Arrange furniture for meetings.
- Assist with the delivery of laundry carts to patient areas.
- Perform any function that is needed or appropriate.
Reports to supervisors any beds that are not completed during their assigned shift and completes discharge sheets.
Accountability- Accountable for the quality of cleanliness of assigned areas, equipment and cart.
- Accountable for ensuring safety and security of work area, patient confidentiality and employee confidentiality.
- Minimum Education:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, preferred. - Minimum Experience:
Some work related experience preferred; willing to train. - Minimum skills/abilities:
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
