Of Duties
The Electronic Specialst technician must be familiar with the division reporting structure, possess knowledge of data and voice circuit electronics, and have general knowledge of electronics. Must be capable of learning, understanding, and maintaining Amtrak's cable plant.
Minimum Qualifications- Applicants must have a valid driver's license on the date of hire.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to read and understand job information written in English.
- Applicants must be able to perform basic mathematical computations including fractions and decimals.
- Applicants will be required to qualify for the position by passing the electronic technician examination for communications prepared by System Communications Engineering Department.
- Electronic/electrical background or education.
- Communications, electrical and/or electronic experience.
- Previous railroad experience in communications.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
The hourly range is $51.24 – $51.24 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment).
