Our goals are to improve the daily routines for our restaurant staff, optimize their workflows, and enable an outstanding customer experience. As Sweetgreen expands its footprint of automated kitchens, we are looking for a Deployment Engineer, Team Lead to install and maintain our automation equipment, both software and hardware, across the country.

This is an ideal role for someone with technical field leadership experience, excited to be working on cutting‑edge restaurant technology while being supported by a great company culture and team, and a great opportunity for those who are eager to explore the country beyond the greater Boston area.

We offer great benefits, including health insurance (with dental and vision), mileage reimbursement, 401k plan, and free meals.

What you will do
  • Lead a small team of technicians, who report to you directly, as we deploy our automation equipment, the Infinite Kitchen, in new and existing Sweetgreen restaurants across the US.

  • Coordinate with General Contractor (GC) and other third parties involved.
  • Maintain deployment timelines, while holding GCs and other third parties accountable.
  • Ensure safe working environments.
  • Maintain excellent documentation throughout the deployment and schedule follow‑up visits as needed.
  • Advocate for third‑party resources needed to complete site punchlists.
  • Schedule technicians to support restaurant training days.
  • Prep for deployments.
  • Attend construction calls and advocate for IK needs at each site, assess if the sites are tracking with the IK install date.
  • Lead deployment prep, tools, and kitting for your deployment sites. Improve internal systems, and provide feedback to 3rd‑party vendors.
  • Improve workflows and systems as they relate to the deployment of IKs.
  • Own and improve the deployment SOP, Packing Lists, Kits and other operational resources.
  • Train team members on how to use these systems.
  • Make deployments more efficient, with the long‑term goal of improving efficiency and repeatability.
  • Support the transfer of the SG‑provided Bill of Materials (BOM) to our contract manufacturer.
  • Provide high‑quality feedback to our engineering teams for long‑term improvements to our systems.
  • Support technician related tasks while in Boston during periods of fewer deployments, including but not limited to:
    • Support for maintenance trips.
