Qualifications- Black Seal License (recommended).
- Minimum experience as determined by the board.
- Knowledge of plant operation and maintenance, cleaning methods and procedures, heating and ventilation, and proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
- Valid Driver's License required.
Director of Building & Grounds
Job GoalTo provide a safe, clean, and exceptional school facilities and district grounds.
Performance Responsibilities- Cleaning and maintaining all facilities assigned to the district's standards following written protocols.
- Maintaining, enhancing, and ensuring safe manicured landscaping on all district properties, including gutter cleaning, topsoil dressing, grass cutting, hedge and tree trimming, leaf cleaning, mulching, and keeping the grounds free from rubbish and debris.
- Preparing for pre‑athletic and post‑athletic events by ensuring that fields and courts are properly maintained, lined, and safe for all participants.
- Snow and ice removal using shovels, truck plows, and other mechanical devices on all district properties.
- Maintaining all district equipment such as trucks, mowers, blowers, chainsaws, plows, and UTVs according to manufacturer specifications.
- Keeping all district equipment clean daily and storing it neatly and properly.
- Completing assigned work orders in a timely manner.
- Completing general maintenance work including but not limited to carpentry, sheetrock, spackling, painting, playground inspections, and repairs.
- Responsible for moving, storing, or discarding furniture or equipment when assigned.
- Obeying all fire/safety and environmental laws and regulations relating to district operations.
- Complying with all laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of recyclables, trash, waste, and debris.
- Responsible for opening and closing all district buildings when needed, following district policies, rules, and regulations.
- Following all district safety protocols, OSHA, POSHA, and other recognized workplace safety standards while working.
- Obtaining a Black Seal Boiler License within the first year of employment.
- Performing all duties as assigned by the administration.
Salary and work year to be determined by the board of education.
EvaluationPerformance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of noncertified staff.
SalaryFollowing the established BBEA Salary Guide ranging from $40,925 to $63,730.
