Extrusion Operator - Night Shift

Full‑time, In‑person

• $20.50–$27.22 per hour base pay depending on experience
• $2.00 per hour night shift differential
• $1.00 per hour PEX Premium

• 6 pm – 6 am (night shift)
• 4 days on, 4 days off (12‑hour shift)

This position is tasked with the efficient and safe operation of different types of specialized extrusion equipment. The operator is required to maintain accurate and legible production reports, set up and change over machines, select dies (up to 10 per day), and handle all quality related aspects of internal and industry specifications prior to shipping or secondary processes. Operators will handle basic troubleshooting, conduct daily preventative maintenance checks, and elevate issues to the Area Lead if unresolved.

Safe handling of moving equipment to move pallets of product to the proper location is required. Operators are expected to be active in continuous improvement programs to help make the business more successful.

• Safely operate computer‑controlled equipment according to procedures, including die changes, changeovers, in‑process checks and adjustments.
• Perform reel changes as reels fill to capacity per written procedures.
• Verify product quality using precision measuring devices to monitor pipe dimensions.
• Accurately and legibly record all required data on production reports (hardcopy or electronic).
• Maintain work area to 6S standards, keep tools and equipment in designated areas, and perform operator preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Collect and submit quality samples as required.
• Seek out opportunities for proactive involvement in lean initiatives.

• High school education or equivalent.
• Good math skills and familiarity with the metric system.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic mechanical and technical skills.
• Ability to problem‑solve, multitask/prioritize, and pay attention to detail.
• Must be able to work a 12‑hour shift.
• Manufacturing experience of 1–3 years preferred but not required.

The expected compensation range for this position is $20.50–$27.22 per hour. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. Internal equity among current employees will also be considered. This range represents the full base hourly rate;

hiring at or near the top of the range is uncommon to ensure room for future pay advancement.
