We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented maintenance professional to help keep an assisted living facility safe, clean, comfortable, and fully operational for residents, visitors, and staff. This role is essential in supporting a welcoming environment and ensuring that building systems, equipment, and common areas are maintained to a high standard.
Responsibilities- Perform routine inspections of the facility, including resident areas, common spaces, mechanical rooms, and outdoor areas.
- Complete general repairs and preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and other building systems as needed.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls with professionalism and a resident-centered approach.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinate repairs with outside vendors when necessary.
- Maintain safe and orderly work areas while following all facility policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Support housekeeping, sanitation, and infection control efforts as needed to help maintain a clean environment.
- Monitor building supplies and maintenance inventory, and communicate replenishment needs in a timely manner.
- Complete light landscaping, snow removal, trash removal, and other exterior upkeep tasks as assigned.
- Participate in emergency preparedness activities and respond appropriately to urgent facility needs.
- Document work performed, equipment issues, and completed inspections accurately and consistently.
- Previous maintenance experience in a healthcare, senior living, hospitality, or similar environment is preferred.
- Working knowledge of general building systems, repair methods, and safety practices.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and customer service skills, with a respectful and professional approach.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff, residents, and vendors.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, stand, and perform manual tasks as required by the role.
- Flexibility to handle occasional after-hours or emergency maintenance needs. Weekend availability.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and work order systems.
- Knowledge of life safety systems, resident room maintenance, or facility compliance standards.
- Relevant certifications or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or related trades.
