Lead Maintenance Technician
REPORTS TO: General Manager
Position Summary
The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for leading the day-to-day maintenance operations of the hotel while ensuring the property remains safe, functional, and well-maintained for guests and team members. This position oversees preventative maintenance programs, coordinates repairs, maintains life safety systems, and supports capital improvement projects. The Lead Maintenance Technician serves as the primary maintenance expert on property, working closely with hotel leadership to maintain brand standards, maximize equipment performance, and extend the life of hotel assets.

- Lead all day-to-day maintenance operations for the hotel, ensuring guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and exterior grounds meet company and brand standards.
- Develop, manage, and complete the property's preventative maintenance program to maximize equipment life and minimize unexpected repairs.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, appliance, carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, and other building systems.
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and work orders while delivering outstanding guest service.
- Maintain the hotel's swimming pool and spa (where applicable), including water chemistry, cleaning, equipment maintenance, and required documentation.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, equipment records, and required compliance documentation.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, local building codes, environmental requirements, and company safety standards.
- Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, equipment, and replacement parts while controlling expenses.
- Train and support maintenance technicians or other team members on proper maintenance procedures and safe work practices.
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations, including after-hours issues when required.
- Conduct daily property walks of interior and exterior of the complex to ensure upkeep of spaces
- Support all hotel departments as needed and perform additional duties assigned by hotel leadership.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or trade certification preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of hotel maintenance, facilities maintenance, or commercial building maintenance experience preferred.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, safety procedures, and technical documents.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins as business needs require.
- Valid driver's license may be required based on property needs.
