Position: Custodian (PT), St. Theresa Parish, North Reading, MA
JOB STATUS:
Part-time, flexible, must be available on weekends

HOURS:

up to 18 hours per week

SUMMARY:

The Custodian resa's Parish in North Reading is responsible for the appearance, cleanliness and maintenance of the buildings and grounds. Be part of a dynamic team working together to make our parishes more welcoming to all.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform minor repairs
• Prepare the churches and other rooms for services and church events
• Cleaning and maintaining building facilities.
• Performing the necessary room set-ups for scheduled meetings or events.
• Sweeping, mopping, scrubs, and vacuuming all floors using cleaning solutions, tools, and equipment.
• Cleaning or polishing walls, ceilings, windows, and building fixtures.
• Cleaning walkways, parking lots, and steps.
• Gathering and emptying trash.
• Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms.
• Notifying the Finance and Operations Manager when materials/supplies need to be ordered or when there is a need for major repair or addition to building operating systems.
• Other duties as well may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least one (1) year experience in custodial, building maintenance or general labor.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning methods and products.
• Ability in using Lawn equipment, Snow-blower, Floor buffers, vacuum, mops and various hand tools.

PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS:

• Ability to sit, bend, stoop, climb and reach, kneel.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
