Part-Time​/Casual Positions

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used and the safety precautions for custodial or janitorial work, including proper use of custodial supplies such as synthetic detergents, soaps, scouring powders, waxes, and proper techniques for applying them on various floors, walls, toilet rooms, furniture, and other building furnishings.
• Knowledge of the use, operation, and care of custodial equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor machines, floor brushes, sweeping mops, and similar tools.
• Knowledge of building care and maintenance of grounds, walks, lawns, shrubbery, etc., and minor adjustment and repair of furniture and other building equipment including plumbing, heating, and electrical fixtures.
• Knowledge of fire and accident prevention in public buildings, including the operation and care of hand fire extinguishers.
• Knowledge of the proper display of the flag of the United States of America.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
• Physical fitness to perform a variety of manual tasks required on the job.
• Neat appearance and good moral character.
• Outside work includes operating snow blowers and shoveling snow when required.
