POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Director of Maintenance assists in overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring that facilities, equipment, and grounds are maintained to company standards. This role supports preventive maintenance programs, repairs, and renovation projects while providing leadership and direction to maintenance associates.
Essential Functions- Assists the Director of Maintenance in planning, coordinating, and supervising daily maintenance activities for the property.
- Ensures preventive maintenance programs are executed and documented in accordance with standards.
- Supports maintenance repairs to buildings, equipment, electrical, mechanical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and other maintenance areas.
- Leads and coordinates special projects such as renovations, remodels, facility upgrades, and large-scale repairs.
- Collaborates with store management, vendors, and contractors to ensure timely completion of maintenance requests.
- Assists in training, coaching, and developing maintenance team associates.
- Maintains accurate records and reporting related to maintenance tasks and safety compliance.
- Assists with scheduling and assigning work orders and ensures maintenance tasks are completed efficiently.
- Provides support during emergency maintenance situations and responds as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Minimum Degree
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent experience. - Experience:
3+ years of experience in facility maintenance, construction, or related field. - Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Technical knowledge of building systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing) preferred.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Knowledge of facility maintenance procedures and best practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and leadership.
- Proficiency in basic computer systems and maintenance tracking software.
- Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and develop solutions.

Physical Requirements- Regular walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work on ladders and perform maintenance tasks safely.
- Work performed both inside and outside the facility in varying environmental conditions.
Performs duties with general supervision, making decisions on maintenance tasks, priorities, and procedures while working within established company policies and objectives.
