JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the AGM, Maintenance, the Painter performs a variety of skilled and specialized painting, staining, and repair work on various interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, furniture, and equipment. This includes guest rooms, common areas, pools, guest buildings, clubhouses, and outdoor spaces. The Painter demonstrates an expertise in both aesthetic and functional painting, ensuring the resort’s appearance remains attractive, clean, and well‑maintained.

DUTIES

AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Read work orders or receive instructions from the supervisor and/or manager regarding painting.
  • Preparing and clean surfaces to be painted, including sanding, filling, and priming.
  • Applying coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or other finishes to decorate and protect a variety of interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structures.
  • Backup support to others, special projects as requested, and/or any legitimate business task within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Ensure the quality of paint work by using appropriate techniques to avoid drips, streaks, or other imperfections.
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including the use of PPE and handling of chemicals in accordance with environmental and health guidelines, and maintain a clean and organized work environment that is safe for guests and staff.
  • Maintain clear communication with maintenance lead painter, supervisor, and manager regarding progress and completion of tasks. Work near guests and other staff, ensuring minimal disruption to resort operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, application techniques, and safety standards common to the painting trade.
  • Knowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling, application, and proper disposal.
  • Knowledge of text and display requirements for signage applications.
  • Skill in the preparation and application of paints, stains, and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces.
WORK SCHEDULES

Given that we are in the hospitality industry and operations are 24 hours, 7 days per week, schedules will vary by department based on seasonality and business needs. All employees are encouraged to recognize there is a certain level of flexibility expected based on legitimate business situations. For office staff, slight variations of start and end times are available by department based on business needs.

However, once a schedule is determined, employees should ensure they are timely based on their established schedule. Requests for schedule adjustments should be submitted to your immediate manager and may be considered if it meets the needs of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Any combination of education, training, and/or experience which demonstrates ability to perform the required duties. A typical qualifying background would include at least one (1) year experience as a painter.
